“Cobalt, a color of ingenuity and enlightenment, represents the unconventional artist within me ...Its electrifying impact is visible in the multilayered complex pieces which add a contemporary twist to my work.”
Over two decades of art practice my work has evolved from traditional realism to contemporary representational art. Figures and Portraiture are my forte. My latest series titled Open Windows is a collection of abstracted figures and portraits. Complementary colors are juxtaposed to create micro window-like openings which aim to portray the macro view of life.
People often ask me why I paint old faces, my answer to them is simple “greater the number of wrinkles on a face much greater are the stories it narrates”. My latest collection of Ultramarine portraits are a narrative of some such untold stories of life.
